A new intruiging ad from Apple, this time for the iPod Shuffle (Hi or Low quality). The simplicity and product placement, is all there is.

Similarities can be seen in the “hands” ad for HP earlier in 2006. Both ads have your eyes fixed on the hand and arm actions. However Apple’s exclusion of motiongraphics and other details is what makes this ad differ from HP’s “hands”.
(The actual advert release was two weeks ago, but stepheno.net did not exist two weeks ago.)

I was tipped off via a chat, that some nifty onion skinning features in iStopMotion, may be of use when getting the actors to line up for the next shot. http://help.istopmotion.com/stories/storyReader$18

The previous ad from Apple for their iPod Shuffle came out a little over a month ago. I can’t say this new Holiday Ad, is anywhere close in shear coolness factor to the iPod Shuffle Ad, and compared to other Get A Mac ads, I.E. like Better Results with Gisele Bündchen’s guest appearance. [...] These two ads are good, but don’t quite measure up with some of the previous iPod ads. I believe these are the first iPod related ads since the previous one I covered: New iPod Shuffle Ad. [...]
[...] I mentioned one of HP’s previous Hands ads in my New iPod Shuffle Ad post in December. This new ad features Paulo Coelho, and has some rather cool motion graphic effects. [...]
