An interesting networking shift in professional media-house The New York Times‘ new decision. They are including links, allowing you to post directly to Newsvine, Facebook and Digg. This approach has previously been popular on various blog sites. But that The New York Times(The NYT’s) has incorporated these features, show that the speedlinking has reached a new high.

Now it will be interesting to see what the effect of The NYT’s bold approach will have on other news-agencies around the world. There is definitely a lot of potential users at Digg and the others, which don’t bother to read The NYTs daily.
Following my post on Claiming Digg and Technorati you will see I have placed my own “Share” links at the bottom of my singe-post pages.
There’s going to be a lot more of this kind of thing.
To me, this is an inevitability rather than some admission of defeat (depending on what commentary you choose read.)
Fostering a community around new coverage, giving your audience a voice is a glimpse of things to come…
Yeah, I was surprised seeing some of the negative commentaries about the NYT’s decission on various other blogs.
Giving the audience a voice, as you pointed out, is a very good way of putting it. It gives the opportunity for users to share what could be vital information. Moving away from the regular one-way communication form, which is usual in newspapers, to a more two-way communication, will hopefully, overlooking the unpresent critisism, give a more correct picture/reflection of society.
