Originally I read about the review comparing some camera-phones to consumer digital cameras at Slashdot which the UK branch of CNET has titled: Camera combat. The review has already caused some debate, and the question still remains whether camera phones could replace standalone cameras.

The results do definitely make you wonder.
In my opinion it depends on how you will use the camera. Here is a pro-camera phone example: Capturing the moment while you are out and about. I believe that the accessibility of camera phone would surpass the extra burden of having to always remember to bring another camera with you.
Although if you are interested in quality or do have in mind of printing pictures you take, you should invest in some better optics that are not squeezed to fit inside an already slim phone.
