Norway’s Queen turned 70 years old on Wednesday. She chose to visit Stavanger for her 70th birthday celebration July 4th 2007. I was lucky enough to capture a couple pictures of her, the King and the surrounding festivities.
The first picture was just after a church service in Stavanger’s Cathedral, Stavanger domkirke. The King of Norway, King Harald to the left, and the Queen, Queen Sonja to the right.
The US acrobat group Bandaloop performed acrobatics off the side of the Stavanger 2008 building, as part of the festivities for the Queen’s 70th birthday celebration. The group will be returning for more performances in Stavanger in 2008.
The above motive caught my attention. Firstly the colors. Three different evergreens, the closest very fresh and green, the second sort of brown/orange and the last withered and dead?.
The next picture I took of the Rica Forum Hotel by Tjensvoll between two surrounding pillars.
Now counting down: Six more days until I start my summer break.
