December 5th 2006 I wrote my first post here at stepheno.net: Installing WordPress at one.com.

This first year has been a great deal of fun and experimenting. The topics I have covered have been rather wide, ranging from ads to commentaries.

Although my post frequency decreased noticeably about half a year ago, I still appreciate the online and offline support from all you readers. I continue to look forward at yet another year of stepheno.net, and hopefully picking up my posting frequency.

A couple of my Norwegian friends did at some point need a dictionary to figure out a couple of my written words here. So I was pleasantly affirmed with the results of the blog readability test: My pages have a level of education required to understand my “blog” comparing to Junior High.

Tropical Stavanger? Although I have been kept inside working with an extra ordinary project all week, the warm weather drew us outside every short recess.

The above picture was captured during a quick walk close to Stokkavatnet on Friday. The below picture is yet another picture of the old school building on campus.

Below, I was waiting close to a small pond and tried to capture some of the sun’s light diffractions in the fall of water.

With my last picture of this week I experimented with a little field of depth .

Smallman’s blog has been one of my early inspirations since my entry to the blogosphere several months ago. He has also been an active contributor with comments and advice here on stepheno.net. Critical Metrics monitors recommendations from various musical “authorities” such as magazines, bloggers, music tv networks and newspapers etc. And generates neatly a serious list of some of the latest good music out there.

They include samples for most of their recommended music, as well as where you can buy the song. You can listen to the songs individually or as part of a playlist.

It’s spring time, and I at least thought that was synonymous with lambs. So I went tracking to find some. But I was already several weeks too late to find any snow white newborns.

The above lamb obviously found my presence somewhat interesting, while the one below couldn’t care less.

Continuing my somewhat abstract POTW streak I began last week, the below structure is located outside the Oil Museum in Stavanger. I didn’t figure out what this actually was, but it has to do with the Oil industry, and I will try to remember to find out what it is next time I walk it.

My last picture is a picture of a crane by Tjensvollkrysset at a rather untraditional angle. The question is, was I allowed to be were I was when I took that picture? (Or what Even?)

And if you have any ideas or tips on how to interconnect my picture themes this week please let me know, sheep and the oil industry or cranes?

Buddi is apparently a very easy and basic application approach for simple budgeting. Although an offline application, it’s available for Windows, Linux and Mac. I was looking forward to try it out on my iBook, but since I would have to install Java 1.5 on an already dangerously low free disk space level, I aborted. Instead check out LifeHacker’s review.

(Now when I can afford it, I’m thinking of a USB stick with applications?)

Months ago my laptop hard disk died, since my iMac was going strong I didn’t bother to do anything about it before a couple months later. I disassembled the laptop, and was then faced with incorrect tools and no hard disk to actually replace the old one with. I couldn’t justify using money on a brand new hard disk, so I ended up postponing the fix.

Finally after completing several school projects, and been given an Easter break, I found enough time to proceed. I ended up finding an old 6Gb HD from a friend, some replacement for the old 20Gb in my iBook 700Mhz 12-inch. But I’m not going to complain, it was free, and it’s great having my iBook “laptop” working again.
